Below is one of many excellent portrait results you can achieve with Midjourney ⬇️.

This image below won 2023's World Photography Organization’s Sony World Photography Awards. It was later revealed that it was an image made with AI.
Last few years, we have been seeing a rapid development of high quality AI imagery, with advent of advanced tools such as various Latent Diffusion ModelsOpenAI’s , and Contrastive Language-Image Pretraining.

Nonetheless, AI is an ever-evolving field and presents a challenge to ‘real’ photographers with commercial brands increasingly likely to use AI-generated images instead of photographs.

AI Use Case in Photography
Photoshop AI Generative Fill Photoshop's AI Generative Fill uses artificial intelligence to automatically fill in missing parts of an image by generating appropriate textures and details based on the surrounding areas. It is surprisingly natural.

Image Enhancement
Image enhancement AI transforms low-resolution images into high-resolution versions by using machine learning to fill in finer details and improve image clarity.

Automated Editing
Automated editing uses algorithms to automatically adjust image attributes like contrast and color to improve visual quality without manual input.

Generative AI portrait
Generative AI portrait creates realistic or stylized human images from scratch using artificial intelligence models trained on a dataset of diverse faces.

Style Transfer
AI style transfer applies the artistic style of one image to the content of another, using neural networks to blend the two seamlessly.

However, this rapid rise has also raised ethical concerns. AI-generated ‘photos’ can be employed to spread conspiracy theories, propaganda, and other nefarious purposes. And, while photo editing and manipulation have been part of photography since its inception, a distinction exists between traditional editing and the creation of entirely AI-generated images, prompted by individuals.

Will AI Replace Photography?
AI tools are incredibly powerful, producing results that mimic real photographs. Yet, the heart of photography is in preserving genuine memories. While technology can enhance how we capture these moments, it can't fully replace the personal touch and emotional connection of traditional photography.
